Minnie Malik

Minnie has been a fixture here at Mission Viejo Montessori for many years. In 2002, she joined the MVM staff as an assistant toddler teacher. In those early years, she developed an admiration for the Montessori Method and, after obtaining her Montessori teacher training, she taught in the elementary program for two years. In 2009, she took a position in our preschool program when the lead teacher went on maternity leave. After that first year, she fell in love with teaching preschoolers and has been leading the preschool program since.

Minnie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, and her Montessori Elementary I (ages 6-9) teaching credential from the American Montessori Society. She also holds her Master’s Degree in Education, with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education Curriculum, from California State University (Fullerton). Her graduate project research focused on cultural and linguistic responsiveness in preschool and kindergarten classrooms. Minnie has more than 30 early childhood education credits with plans to complete more in the future! Upon completing her Masters Degree, she became our Curriculum Specialist, guiding curricula for all of the programs. Minnie loves to observe the development of preschoolers and tries to inspire their growing minds every moment of the day!

When she is not on campus, you’ll find Minnie with her husband, Neal, at Disneyland, the beach, or maybe curled up on the couch watching anything on HGTV.
